We have aptly selected the theme: “Exalting People Professionals Amidst a Planetary Pandemic: Explore, Expand and Excel”. We will deliberate on digitalization, disruption, diversity, and diligence regarding the distinct dimensions of human resource management (HRM).

WHRC will be a hybrid event, comprising both an in-person congress and a virtual congress.
The congress will comprise 3 days of technical content, including plenary sessions at the start of each day followed by several concurrent sessions.

Plans for the face to face (F2F) congress are going exceedingly well and we are confident we will deliver an energizing, enriching, and engaging experience. You will be able to communicate directly with speakers to ask questions, learn more about their research, or just make a connection. We believe this initiative will promote greater interaction and will have great impact complementing the F2F and virtual lecture presentations.

Going hybrid will allow people who, for a variety of reasons, will not be able to join the face to face (F2F) congress in Colombo to participate in the most important and actual human resources factors congress of 2021.
Registration fees will be reduced to make the virtual congress widely accessible.

Virtual session delegates will be able to join online presentations at scheduled times to pose questions and interact with the speakers. The recorded virtual sessions will be available on- demand post Congress. In-person delegates will have access to the virtual congress as well.

The main body of the Congress will be the in-person congress. In-person attendees will also have opportunities to visit the commercial exhibition and participate in social events around the F2F and virtual Technical program. It will be truly unforgettable! Nothing can really replace the in-person experience.

The WHRC has been held since 1986 in seventeen different countries and the next venue is Sri Lanka, the pearl of the Indian Ocean. The WHRC enables people professionals to build a global community of peers, to discuss new developments in HRM, and to network with colleagues from around the world who face similar complex challenges in HRM.For the first time, it comes to a humanly rich (HR) region which is South Asia. It will be the pinnacle of the evolution of the premier HR event in South Asia hosted by the CIPM.

The CIPM brought you “In Search of HR Excellence” in 2013 with an overwhelming success. We hosted the largest even attended HR event of CIPM in 2014 with the theme, “Redefining HR for Boosting Performance”.In 2017, the focus was on “Emerging HR Leaders: High Tech and High Touch”. We have moved further in 2018 with the novel theme, ““Transformation of HR in the Digital World”. In 2019, it took a dynamic turn with a distinctly different theme, “Radically Reinventing Reality”.

It is with a great sense of pride I announce that the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka was awarded the rights to conduct the ‘World HRD Congress in Sri Lanka in 2020 which however had to be rescheduled to be held in 2021 due to the Covid19 disruption.Thus CIPM will host this important global event under the aegis of the World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA) from 25th, 26th and 27th October 2021 at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo.

スリランカ公認人事管理研究所が2020年にスリランカで開催される世界人事会議を実施する権利を授与されたことを誇りに思いますが、Covid19の混乱のために2021年に開催されるようにスケジュールを変更する必要がありました。したがって、CIPMは、2021年10月25日、26日、27日から、コロンボのバンダラナイケ記念国際会議場（BMICH）で、世界人事管理協会連合（WFPMA）の支援の下でこの重要なグローバルイベントを主催します。

The World Congress on People Management is held once in every two years under the aegis of the WFPMA with the previous event being held in Chicago, USA in 2018. It is noteworthy that the World HR Congress is hosted by a South Asian country for the very first time.

The World Congress is an opportunity to bring together the continental federations and the national associations of 93 countries which make up the WFPMA. As the Premier federation of People management Associations, we are a globally recognized authority to support the people management profession throughout the world.

Our colleagues in CIPM have shown remarkable resilience and professionalism to maintain their focus on hosting the congress.There is now a more optimistic outlook with the global progress on vaccines and CIPM have worked with their event partners Paragon to create a ‘hybrid’ event. This will blend thought-provoking speakers with networking opportunities, both on a face to face and virtual basis.
